The Cousins | Seattle Family Photographer

L had her six year old pictures taken only a few weeks ago.  Today she was surrounded by her cousins and two of her grandparents.  After her grandma saw her birthday pictures and she knew that they would all be together for Passover she saw this as the perfect opportunity to have their pictures taken.  I hope this sparks an interest in you to get your pictures taken with your family.  It’s something I love to do every year with my family when I’m at home in Jamaica (just scroll down).

I have to tell you that I enjoyed this session a lot.  These kids were hilarious.  You can tell that they truly enjoy being around each other and spending time together laughing and just having a good time.  Keep on loving each other the way you do, it’s infectious.

Everyting Irie!

Our trip to Jamaica was months ago, can you believe I’m just getting to it.  With that said, I’m just going to dive right into it and give you the low down on our time on the island.

Our first week home had us on the North Coast at Silver Sands in Duncans.  Probably one of our favorite spots to go as a family and with friends.  Yup, this year our neighbors joined us for a week of sun and fun.  We spend the time playing on the beach and in the pool.  Eating some really good food, relaxing, enjoying the cool waters of YS Falls and even enjoying a night out (no kids) at the Jazz and Blues Festival.  Jamaica is celebrating 50 years of independence this year so on the first night of the festival they had all Jamaican artists and it was fantastic!

On the second part of our trip home we spent the rest of the time with family.  We took the kids to the zoo, did more swimming and just had a blast hanging out with some of our favorite people.

This was also a trip to celebrate mummy’s 80th birthday.  I look at this woman that raised three wonderful daughters and has a significant part in the lives of her 6 grandchildren and just say to myself “wow”.  She’s special in so many ways and looks amazing for her age.  We love you Mummy! Thank you for EVERYTHING.

…And Baby Makes Three | Seattle Children’s Photographer

Do you remember the Rose Garden Shoot?  Well, the Plaster family had the greatest joy in welcoming baby M into their family only 5 weeks ago.  Newborn photography is new for me but this was fun and I look forward to having the opportunity to do more shoots with little ones that don’t run away:).  Although this was Baby M’s day, mom really wanted to get just a couple of shots with all of the kids.  Big brother wasn’t much into taking any pictures, but big sister E was all over the opportunity to smile for the camera.  M will be given more kisses and hugs…until she steals her first toy:).  Congratulations you guys.

Happy 6th Birthday L | Seattle Children’s Photographer

Every year on her birthday L has her photograph taken.  This year I had the good luck of being her photographer.  She was a natural in front of the camera and when her mom asked if she wanted her to be there with her, L said “no thanks”.  L and I spent the entire shoot laughing, it was so much fun to hang out with such a sweet personality.  Thanks for doing such an amazing job and making my job not only fun but easy.  Happy 6th Birthday!

Back to Our Roots | Family Photographer

On this trip home I had a hard time leaving.  I truly saw myself and my family living in Jamaica experiencing a lifestyle that is just flat out awesome.  The pace is slower, the vide is sweet and food is just too good to resist.  I have a ton of friends and family that have left Jamaica for school, started a family and then returned home after many years living in the first world.  Moving back to JA has been the best decision they have made for themselves and their family, no regrets.

Meet HH, JH, MH and LH.  They made this move about a year ago and they couldn’t be happier with their decision.  Talking to friends like this makes me want to pack it all up and get back to some island living.  Seriously, if you’ve never experienced it before, I hope you do at some point in your life.
